SCHOLARDOME TERMS & CONDITIONS 

Scholardome is committed to offering the highest quality English tutoring in Sydney. To ensure that students will obtain the best possible learning experience, it is a condition of enrolment for each new term that both the parent/carer and the student are aware and agree to the terms and conditions set out below. These terms and conditions supersede any prior agreements you may have had previously entered into with us for our services and may be updated from time-to-time on our website.

Scholardome Terms & Conditions 

1. Fee Policy

• To enrol and secure a placement in a class at Scholardome, payment for the Scholardome Term invoice must be made prior to the commencement of each Scholardome Term by the invoice due date.
• A Scholardome Term is defined to include 10 weeks, aligning with the public school term for the respective quarter of the year (specific dates for the Scholardome Terms are set out below).
• Invoices are made for each Scholardome Term in advance.
• Full payment for the Scholardome Term must be paid and cannot be deducted.
  • No refund, credit or make up lessons will be provided for missed lessons for any reasons during the Scholardome Term.
• If the assigned tutor is absent, an alternative tutor may be assigned or the missed lesson will be rescheduled or credited to another agreed date.
• We accept payment via EFT. Payment in cash is not accepted as our office is a cashless premise to ensure a safe environment for students.
• All invoices must be paid before the invoice due date, otherwise we reserve the right to replace that seat with another student on our waiting list.
• For students who are invited to enrol during Scholardome Term for the first time, the lessons will be pro-rated for that Scholardome Term, effective as at the date of the week the student enrols.

2. Complimentary lessons for re-enrolling students during school holidays

All Scholardome students actively re-enrolled in our Accelerated English Groups for their upcoming term will have access to one complimentary lesson during each holiday period that occurs before their next re-enrolled Scholardome term. This can total up to 4 complimentary lessons, each lasting 2 hours, over the course of the year. The dates for each holiday period are set out below.  These complimentary lessons are to encourage consistent and continuous learning throughout the holidays for all our re-enrolled students. 

Please note that our Exclusive Study Space for our senior students (years 11 and 12) will also be open during our allocated opening hours.

4. Pricing and Inclusions

Our pricing for Accelerated English Groups for each Scholardome Term will be an all inclusive fee and includes the following:

• Weekly 2-hour Accelerated English tutorials.
• For high school students:
  • Marking and feedback for preparation regarding weighted school English assessments or examinations including Extension 1 English coursework for senior students (turnaround of approximately 3 days).
  • Email support for queries regarding weighted school English assessments or examinations.
  • Provision of relevant notes, resources and materials required for the Scholardome Term.
  • For senior students (Years 11-12), access to our Exclusive Study Space 6 days a week (Monday-Saturday) during allocated opening hours. The opening hours may be subject to change without notice.
• For primary school students:
  • Access to our online learning portal for homework units.
  • Provision of relevant materials during tutorials.

The prices for each year group for a 10-week Scholardome Term, inclusive of GST, are as follows:

5. Accelerated Group Tutorials

We are committed to maintaining a nurturing, inspiring and safe environment for all our students. As all our Accelerated English Groups are accelerated tutorials, we are determined to ensure that all students are able to maximise and accelerate their learning in a supportive and fostering environment. If a student on our waitlist is invited to join an Accelerated English Group but we determine that the tutorials are too difficult for the student’s progress and/or needs, or, the student is disruptive, or shows anti-social behaviour to the class, we reserve the right to discontinue enrolment for the student. This measure is in place to ensure the best learning environment for our Accelerated English Groups and to ensure synergy in classroom learning. 

In the case that we determine that the Accelerated English Group is too difficult for the student’s progression or needs, we will advise the parent/carer. 

6. Individual Lessons for High School Students

Scholardome has dedicated time slots so that all students in our Accelerated English Groups who want additional private lessons can book ad-hoc consultations (session-by-session or once-off) with our Director tutors on a needs basis. Please note that booking an ad-hoc consultation is not required to receive support for weighted English school assessment as marking and feedback are already provided outside of class hours for all our enrolled students. These ad-hoc consultations are typically beneficial for students who require more face-to-face time, such as Extension 2 English consultations regarding major work, LAT help, State, National or International competition preparations or further specific consultation before school exams or assessments. The ad-hoc consultations are only available for students who are actively enrolled in our Accelerated English Group. 

Booking & Pricing Details for Individual Consultations:

• Ad-hoc consultations can be scheduled with our Director tutors, Salina and James, during our designated time-slots. These bookings are subject to availability and we recommend making a booking at least 1-2 weeks in advance.
• The fee for an ad-hoc consultation is AUD 250 per hour (inclusive of GST).
• There is no minimum number of consultations required for booking.
• Please be advised that it is our recommendation that students or parents/carers should not book individual consultations for the whole term in advance but book consultations when needed. If an urgent need arises and the scheduled slots are fully booked, Scholardome will endeavour to facilitate an after-hours session with a Director tutor as agreed with the student or parent/carer.

7. Working With Children Check Compliance

   Scholardome is registered with the NSW Office of the Children’s Guardian. All tutors engaged by Scholardome hold current Working With Children Checks, which are verified and monitored by our organisation in accordance with NSW requirements.   

8. Scholardome Student Code of Conduct

Scholardome students are expected to: 

• do their best and treat each student and tutor with courtesy, respect and integrity;
• come to all their lessons and participate;
• avoid dangerous, disruptive or illegal behaviour and offensive language;
• take care with Scholardome premises and property;
• inform Scholardome of their school English assessment progress and results to help assist their overall learning experience;
• not consume food or drinks inside the classroom other than water; and
• put away mobile phones, laptops or any devices including earphones during lessons unless instructed by the tutor to use their laptops.

Scholardome enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy against dangerous behaviour. Continued disruptive or inappropriate behaviour may result in the termination of the student’s enrolment.

8. Copyright

All tutoring materials, including but not limited to text, images, videos, audio recordings, worksheets, and any other content and notes provided and/or created by the tutor during the course of tutoring sessions, are the exclusive property of Scholardome. These materials are protected by copyright law and are intended for the exclusive use of the students enrolled at Scholardome only for their personal academic enrichment.

By enrolling at Scholardome, you agree not to, without prior written consent:

• copy, reproduce, or distribute any tutoring materials and notes provided by Scholardome;
• share, upload, or distribute any tutoring materials on the internet or any other platform, whether for personal or commercial purposes;
• use the tutoring materials provided by Scholardome for purposes other than personal academic enrichment; and
• modify or create derivative works based on the tutoring materials without prior written consent.

By enrolling at Scholardome, you acknowledge and agree to abide by these copyright terms. 

9. Limitations and Liability

Scholardome will use its best efforts to provide high-quality tutoring services. However, Scholardome does not guarantee any specific academic outcomes or examination results for students. The responsibility for achieving desired results ultimately lies with the student. Scholardome shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of data, or loss of opportunity. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Scholardome’s liability for any claims, losses, damages, or expenses arising out of or in connection with our services, whether arising from negligence, tort, contract, statutory duty or otherwise is limited to the amount paid by the student’s parent or guardian for the service provided. By enrolling at Scholardome, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Scholardome and its tutors from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses arising out of the student’s actions or omissions during or in connection with the tutoring services.

10. Privacy and Personal Information

By enrolling at Scholardome, parents/carers and students also acknowledge and consent to the following:

• Scholardome’s premises are under continuous 24-hour video surveillance for the sole purpose of safety and security of all attendee including the protection of students, staff and Scholardome property.
• Any personal information provided to us by students, parents, or guardians will be used for the purpose of delivering our services, administrative tasks, and communication related to tutoring sessions.
• Scholardome reserves the rights to use student names, academic results and photographs from time-to-time for promotional purposes and to celebrate their achievements.
